JAIME FLERES-MIZEJEWSKI

Jaime Fleres-Mizejewski believes her sacred work is to support women in expressing the truth about their lives. Not only in expressing their truths, but knowing down to their very bones that their experiences matter, that they matter, and that their voice is important and healing to the collective.
Jaime currently supports women in this way through movement, writing, and natural healing modalities.
Jaime grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended college in San Diego. There she earned her Bachelors summa cum laude in Women’s Studies and English and her Master’s in the Teaching of Writing. She also received a scholarship to study at Oxford University and received awards for her writing on Women’s Health policy. She spent many years as a professional writer and a professor of college composition and English.
After birthing her daughter Maia in 2013, Jaime moved teaching to the back burner temporarily, to allow her passions for women’s wellness and movement to flourish. In 2013, Jaime founded a holistic wellness company called Santosha Birth and Wellness, through which she offers placenta encapsulation, flower essence therapy, herbs, and doula support. Jaime holds certifications in several movement modalities including kettlebells, TRX, yoga, restorative yoga, and Qoya, though she is most passionate about the latter. Jaime is delighted to share her forthcoming book titled “Birth Write: The Value and How-to of Writing Your Birth Story.” This book offers mothers and fathers a resource to understand and benefit from writing as a unique way to remember, process, heal and honor their birth experience. With a philosophy that every birth story is important and worth telling, this book is accessible to all parents, regardless of their background, beliefs, or birth. Jaime holds workshops and works privately with men and women around writing their stories.
Jaime recently relocated to Asheville, North Carolina, where she lives with her husband, daughter, dog, cat, and the neighborhood flock of wild turkeys. She is a lover of travel, music, people, food, movement, and nature. https://santoshamama.com
